Knowledge created from research projects needs to be disseminated and discussed by local policy makers and to project beneficiaries to facilitate change. In many of its projects, including “The Whole Village” project funded by USAID, communication teams revisited communities in which we collected village-level surveys to present findings and facilitate discussions about the implications of results about health, education, HIV/AIDS, water and sanitation and many other issues. SFTZ’s Tanzanian staff facilitated planning sessions and discussion groups that included local government leaders, local NGOs and hospitals to design grass-roots improvement strategies.
