Hi Susan. My name is Bob Hansen and I’m a professor in the U.S. who has been working in the Longido District (and others) for the last eight years. I think we might find that our goals overlap and that a partnership is possible.
To be brief, I am working with five Maasai grassroots organizations to envision a college for indigenous peoples that would develop their own health care providers (nurse/midwives & community health workers) and teachers. We have done the groundwork and are hoping to do the feasibility study over the next year.
You might know Ndinini Kimisera from Maasai Women’s Development Organization – she is our primary partner, as is Luca ole Rikoyan Mollel who I have been sponsoring in graduate school at the University of Missouri. He received his masters in public policy one year ago and is now in the educational leadership & policy analysis doctoral program.
Are you interested in having a conversation about this potential collaboration? The nonprofit that I help lead is Humanity for Children.
I wish you a wonderful holiday season and continued blessings as you do your work in Tanzania.
Bob
